2026: Osun PDP Chair, National Treasurer To Campaign For Adeleke’s Re-election

Prince Diran Odeyemi, the National Treasurer of the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the chairman of the PDP in Osun State, Mr Sunday Bisi were part of the 52-member campaign committee for the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

According to a document made available to NAIJAONPOINT, Bisi will serve as an advisor while Odeyemi will be a member of the campaign committee.

NAIJAONPOINT reports that Governor Adeleke joined the Accord Party on December 09, 2025, after resigning from the PDP, citing persistent leadership turmoil at the party’s national level.

Meanwhile, the 52-member committee saddled with the responsibility of managing the re-election campaign of the Governor, according to a statement, will be chaired by the ex-national secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prof Wale Oladipo.

Also, the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Lere Oyewumi, has been appointed as the Director General of the campaign committee.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director General, with the convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates in Nigeria, Pelumi Olajengbesi, serving as the spokesperson and Bola Ajao, as the secretary.

“It will be chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council at Osun State University, Prof Wale Ladipo, while the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Lere Oyewumi, has been appointed Director General.

“Further strengthening the campaign structure, the lawmaker representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Bamidele Salam, who also chairs the House Committee on Public Accounts, will head the Media and Publicity Committee, while former secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, will oversee Inter-Party Relations alongside other 29 campaign council standing committees.

“At the federal constituencies level, the Imole Federal Constituency Campaign Committee will be constituted in each of the nine federal constituencies.

“Membership will include working committee members, state party officers, members of the House of Assembly, commissioners, special advisers, council chairmen, and party chairmen from each constituency,” the statement read.
