The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
In a statement issued by JAMB’s public communication advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board confirmed that results for the Day 1 candidates are now available for viewing.
According to the update, the candidates can now access their scores.
The board advised candidates to check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the exact phone number (SIM) registered during the UTME application process.
At this stage, candidates can only view their results; printing of result slips is not yet available.
JAMB issued a strong warning against result manipulation.
The board cautioned candidates and parents against altering SMS results or using AI and other electronic means to fabricate scores, describing such acts as serious criminal offences.
It revealed that two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for result falsification.
The 2026 UTME is scheduled to run from Thursday, April 16, to Saturday, April 25, 2026, across 959 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.
JAMB indicated that results for subsequent days will be released progressively as processing is completed.
This swift release of Day 1 results is seen as a positive step by the Board to maintain transparency and efficiency in the examination process, allowing candidates to plan ahead for post-UTME screenings by various institutions.
