In a proactive move to reinforce the security framework across Ikorodu Division, the Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, on Thursday, 16 April, 2026, joined fellow council chairmen and key stakeholders at a high-level security strategic meeting aimed at addressing emerging security concerns and enhancing community safety.
The meeting, held at the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat, convened heads of various security agencies, community leaders, and the leadership of Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Ltd/Gte (IDPIL/G). The gathering underscored a shared commitment to sustaining peace, security, and stability throughout the division.
Deliberations at the meeting centered on a comprehensive review of the existing security architecture within Ikorodu Division, with particular emphasis on identifying operational gaps that require urgent attention. Stakeholders engaged in extensive discussions on intelligence gathering, strengthening community policing structures, and the need for deeper collaboration between residents and law enforcement agencies.
Hon. Benson’s participation highlighted his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lifes and property.

He further commended security operatives for their dedication and sacrifices in maintaining law and order across the division.
He, however, called for increased logistical support, improved welfare package, and the deployment of modern technology to boost their operational effectiveness and response capabilities.

He reiterated his administration readiness to continue mobilizing community members and fostering trust between the people and security agencies as a critical component of sustainable security.
