
Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Budget Planning and governorship aspirant in the 2027 election in Kwara state, Hon Mohammed Bio, on Thursday unveiled plans to initiate what he called a “state development programme.”
According to him, the programme would ensure even infrastructural development across the three senatorial district of Kwara state.
He also pledged to bring his legislative experience to bare in the preparation and execution of what he called “community based” budget system that would allow for imputes from the grassroots based on communities needs, a system, which according to him, would be more impactful different from the conventional budget system.
The lawmaker who currently represents Baruteen/Kaiama constituency of Kwara state in the House of Representatives, likened the proposed state development plan to the Akwa-ibom state development model which he said was second to non.
Bio made the pledge while fielding questions from journalists on the sideline of his declaration to contest for the governorship of Kwara state under the platform of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in in the 2027 general election.
The governorship aspirant also pledged to revive the old Teachers Training College and Technical Colleges in the state to provide jobs for the teeming youth in the state.
“These are the three main things I will do differently that nobody has ever done since 199, These are apart from my five priorities areas” , he said .
He listed other priority areas to include security, energy and power, Agriculture and education.
Speakers at the well attended event included Senator Ahmed Mohammed from Kwara north, Chief James Ayeni from Kwara South and Alhaji Ibrahim Agbeyangi, all backed the glamour for zoning of the APC 2027 governorship ticket to Kwara North.
