2027: Over 10,000 supporters storm endorsement rally for Ikenga in Imo

The people of Ideato North, South federal constituency, Imo state have formally adopted Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, as their consensus candidate for the House of Representatives 2027, State Assembly and governorship elections under the platform of the Action Peoples Party (APP), in what observers have described as a historic and overwhelming show of unity and grassroots support.

At a well-attended endorsement rally, held at Christ Anglican Church Field, Ntueke, that drew over 10,000 enthusiastic supporters from across Ideato North and South, community leaders, youth groups, women associations, and political stakeholders unanimously declared their confidence in Hon. Ugochinyere’s leadership, performance, and commitment to the development of the constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the people, key stakeholders emphasized that the adoption of Ikenga Ugochinyere is a reflection of his track record in the National Assembly, his accessibility to constituents, and his relentless pursuit of people-oriented policies and projects.

They noted that under his representation, Ideato has witnessed renewed visibility at the national level, alongside strategic interventions in infrastructure, empowerment, education, and healthcare, which have directly impacted the lives of the people.

The stakeholders further stressed that the decision to adopt him as a consensus candidate cuts across party lines, describing it as a people-driven movement anchored on performance, credibility, and the desire for continuity in effective representation.

“We have spoken with one voice,” a youth leader declared. “No amount of intimidation, manipulation, or political interference will overturn the clearly expressed will of the people. We are united, vigilant, and determined to ensure that every vote counts.”

Women leaders at the rally also expressed strong support, highlighting Ugochinyere’s inclusive approach to governance and his consistent engagement with grassroots communities, which they said has restored hope and strengthened trust in leadership.

The rally also featured solidarity messages from various political and socio-cultural groups, all aligning behind the consensus candidacy and pledging to mobilize massive voter turnout in 2027.
