A widow, Efosa Dora, has emerged winner of a tricycle at the Family Conference organised by telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria, in Benin City, Edo state.
The event, held simultaneously in Benin City and Owerri, was part of the company’s customer engagement and appreciation initiative aimed at rewarding loyal subscribers during festive periods.
Dora, who attended the event with her children, expressed gratitude to the company, stating that the gesture would significantly improve her family’s livelihood.
“I want to say a big thank you to MTN for putting a smile on my face and the faces of my children,” she said.
Other subscribers also went home with various household items, including generators, freezers, television sets, microwaves, and gas cookers.
Speaking at the event, an MTN representative, Chiazokam Okeke, said the programme was designed to strengthen the relationship between the company and its customers.
“This is not just a party, it is a family conference where we engage directly with our customers. It is happening concurrently in Benin and Owerri, and it reflects our commitment to staying connected with our subscribers,” Okeke said.
He added that the initiative was also a response to the prevailing economic realities, noting that the company remains committed to supporting its customers beyond service delivery.
Another participant, Osasere Egharevba, commended the initiative, describing it as impactful and timely.
