F.C.C. Orders ABC License Review Amid Trump-Kimmel Clash

The Federal Communications Commission ordered an early review of all licenses held by ABC-owned stations, two years before the network’s normal 2028 renewal schedule.

Regulators said the action is connected to an investigation into ABC’s diversity and inclusion policies.

The move came after Trump publicly criticized Jimmy Kimmel and called on ABC to remove the late-night host.

ABC owns eight stations in major markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, and any attempt to deny renewals would likely lead to a prolonged court battle.
