Falz, whose real name is Folarin Falana, has criticised the police for concealing the identity of the officer accused of fatally shooting 28-year-old Mene Ogidi in Effurun, Delta State. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, further intensified after authorities released an image of the officer with his face covered........…

Reacting via his Instagram story, Falz reposted a .... statement by Bright Edafe and questioned the decision, arguing that hiding the officer’s face was unnecessary since the public had already seen him in earlier footage.

Falz wrote, “Absolutely no reason why his face should be covered.”

Hours later, Bright Edafe appeared on Channels Television to address the growing concerns.

During the interview, the host questioned the .... decision to conceal the officer’s identity despite his face already being visible in circulating videos, a move that has fueled public doubts about transparency.

In response, Edafe explained that the Nigerian constitution discourages media parades, noting that all suspects—including police officers—are entitled to fundamental rights. He added that the same standard applies to other suspects such as kidnappers and armed robbers, which informed the decision to cover the officer’s face.

In his words, “His face is Nigerian. It’s part of the criteria to be a police officer. He must be a Nigerian. And the Nigerian constitution stated it clearly that media parade is not the way forward. If you observe, even when we are parading kidnappers, armed robbers, other suspects, we blur out their faces, we cover their faces, or we take them from behind. So, by this man being a police officer who is now a suspect, that does not take away the rights of a Nigerian from him. That was why we had to do that. Let it not look like, “Oh, why is it that it got to the turn of a police officer, and you decide to open it?” Because it is the same rule that governs every Nigerian.”

mamufreshhh reacted, “He should be held fully accountable for his actions. Someone with that kind of violent mindset poses a real threat to society and shouldn’t be allowed to go unchecked. I can’t help but wonder how many innocent people Usman Nuhu may have harmed beyond what has come to light. His action was beyond human comprehension!”

_dera_t shared, “Why is he still calling this Murderer a suspect? I thought a suspect is a person who is believed or thought to be involved in a crime or wrongdoing, but it hasn’t been proven yet? This particular one here has a lot of video evidence flying around and they’re still calling him a suspect. Okay.”

ayolexmadele uttered, “That means that guy have been doing some wrongs before?so tell me has his bears grown after 3days of arrest?aster killing og millions? bright edafe should be arrested or that means police is not our friend , and I know about this long enough.”
