Reports surrounding the RH-WAVE 774 Women Agro-Value Expansion (WAVE) Programme have raised fresh concerns among applicants, following claims of ₦10,000 payment requests and suspicious application links circulating online.

The WAVE programme, introduced by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, is designed to support women across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas with access to funding, training, and agribusiness opportunities. It aims to strengthen women’s participation in the agricultural value chain while promoting food security and economic growth.

However, multiple prospective applicants have reported being asked to pay a ₦10,000 “membership” or registration fee after attempting to apply through a website identified as waveprogramme.com. Others also reported receiving unsolicited messages and redirections to unrelated platforms.

“Why are they requesting for payment of 10k?” one applicant queried, reflecting a concern widely shared across social media platforms.

Another user noted, “They have sent me messages for payment,” while others described issues such as non-responsive pages, failed verification processes, and broken links displaying error messages.

A review of the link being circulated shows that it is not hosted on an official government domain, raising further questions about its authenticity. In addition, some users have reported being sent emails by “Easy Sales Export” under the RH-WAVE initiative.

At the time of this Nigeria Startup News report, there has been no official confirmation from the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs regarding any payment requirement for the RH-WAVE programme.

Typically, Federal Government empowerment programmes do not require upfront payment for application or participation, especially at the registration stage.

Applicants are therefore advised to exercise caution, avoid making payments, and rely only on verified government communication channels for updates regarding the programme.

Further clarification from relevant authorities is expected as concerns continue to grow among interested participants nationwide.
