The Sokoto South Local Goverment Council Chairman, Alhaji Ya’u Muhammad Danda, has lauded president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for embarking on developmental projects in Sokoto state and some areas the northwest especially constructions of over 1000 kilometers Illela / Badagry superhighway and reconstructions and dualization of Sokoto / Gusau / Funtua / Zaria concrete road.
Speaking to newsmen in Sokoto, Alhaji Ya’u said Tinubu deserve commendation because he actualized what late President Shehu Shagari had conceived in 1980 when he was the President of Nigeria.
“When late Shehu Shagari became the president of Nigeria in 1979, he conceived the project but did not award the contract and no goverment after late Shagari visited the noble intention,” he said.
He said president Tinubu has done a lot to northern Nigeria and the country as a whole, citing numerous developmental projects across the country.
He said 36 states of federation and local government council’s across Nigeria are having enough fund to pay salaries and execute developmental projects without taking loan from any financial Institution courtesy of the Tinubu’s good leadership qualities.
Speaking on achievements recorded by Dr. Aliyu’s administration in Sokoto, Ya’u, said Dr Ahmed Aliyu has came with a zeal to change narratives in Sokoto state.
He said the 3 year-old administration of Dr. Ahmed Aliyu has overshadowed the 8 years of his predecessor in terms Developmental projects and welfare to citizenry
“There’s World of difference between the Ahmed led administration and his predecessor people of Sokoto can attest to that,” he said.
He said that Sokoto is undergoing aggriesive tranformation from infrustructural development to socio economic and farming activities.
“If you traveled out of Sokoto before this administration came into being and you return back, I’m very confident that you don’t need anybody to tell that Sokoto changed, Sokoto has a purposeful goverment which has feelings and aspirations of its people
“There are development projects everywhere dotted the capital city from roads constructions , streetlights, housing units portable water supply, rehabilitations and constructions schools, rehabilitations, remodeling and constructions of Jumu’at mosques among others.”
