Iran-US-Israel War LIVE Updates: Donald Trump extends Israel-Lebanon ceasefire by three weeks, warns Iran as US naval buildup grows near Strait of Hormuz.
Trump described the talks with representatives from both sides as productive, adding that he hopes to host Israeli and Lebanese leaders “in the near future”.
Amid the ongoing conflict, Trump signalled a hardening stance towards Iran, stating on social media, “I have all the time in the World, but Iran doesn’t – The clock is ticking!”
While expressing optimism about a potential second round of peace talks, possibly as early as Friday, April 24, he also indicated that Washington would maintain its blockade until Tehran presents a concrete peace proposal.
The situation remains volatile, with the US expanding its naval presence in the region. Al Jazeera reported that a third aircraft carrier, the USS George HW Bush, has joined the USS Gerald R Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln.
Trump has also ordered forces to “shoot and kill” any Iranian vessels deploying sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian officials have indicated that negotiations will not resume until the blockade is lifted.
