Kogi: Ododo Announces Minor Cabinet Reshuffle

The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Abdullahi Bello, as a commissioner-designate.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Arike Ayoade.

According to the statement, the development followed the resignation of the Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Yusuf.

The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioner for his service to the state and wished him success in his future endeavours.

The governor also approved a minor cabinet reshuffle as part of efforts to reposition governance in the state.

As part of the changes, Barrister Salami Ozigi Deedat was redeployed from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to the Ministry of Works.

“Also, the Governor has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, popularly known as Dollar, as a Commissioner-Designate,” the statement read.

It added that Bello would be presented before the Kogi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The statement noted that the redeployment of portfolios takes immediate effect, signalling the administration’s commitment to maintaining efficiency in governance.
