Amnesty International Nigeria, with support from the German Embassy in Nigeria, has announced the call for applications for the 2026 Micro-Influencer Cohort under the “Strengthening Human Rights Defenders to Protect Civic Space” project.
The programme is designed for young digital creators and socially engaged influencers across Nigeria who are passionate about using their online platforms to promote human rights, civic engagement, ethical storytelling, and positive social impact.
According to the organisation, the initiative aims to build a structured advocacy journey for socially conscious digital creators who want to amplify rights-based conversations online while contributing to civic participation and responsible digital influence.
Selected participants will receive specialised training on human rights advocacy and digital security. Participants will also benefit from mentorship opportunities, access to a growing network of civic advocates and creators, mini advocacy support grants, and certificates of participation.
Amnesty International Nigeria added that successful applicants will also gain opportunities for content amplification through campaign activities organised within the programme period.
The programme is targeted at young people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are actively creating engaging and socially relevant content online.
To qualify, applicants must be based in Lagos, Abuja, or Enugu and should have between 10,000 and 25,000 followers on at least one social media platform, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, or TikTok.
Applicants are also expected to demonstrate passion for civic engagement, responsible digital influence, ethical storytelling, and social impact. In addition, selected participants must be available to participate in programme activities scheduled to run between May and August 2026.
The application deadline for the Amnesty International Nigeria Micro-Influencer Cohort 2026 is 12 May 2026.
