Military nabs three Boko Haram, ISWAP suspects in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three suspected collaborators of Boko Haram and ISWAP in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.

The development was made known in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the suspects were arrested on April 13 by operatives of Sector 3 Military Intelligence Brigade, working together with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in the Abari general area.

The suspects were identified as Falmata Abukar, 43; Halima Audu, 35; and Mairo Abba, 17.

Security sources said the they were intercepted while attempting to move from Abari to Mararaba village in Kukawa Local Government Area.

“Items recovered from them include 12 pairs of suspected terrorist uniform materials, 176 bottles of herbicide, 22 wrappers, 24 assorted children’s clothes, a mosquito net, a mat, and N15,500 in cash,” Makama wrote.

The sources added that the items were believed to be logistics supplies meant for insurgents operating around the Lake Chad axis.

The suspects are currently in military custody and are undergoing preliminary investigation to determine their level of involvement and possible links to terrorist groups in the region.
