The Oyo state government Sunday said there was no plan by Governor Seyi Makinde to dethrone the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, as alleged by former governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose.

The Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said the Oyo state government has never contemplated, discussed or planned an action against Olubadan.

Prince Oyelade said: “By now, Nigerians know who and what to believe especially when the information comes from a particular quarter. The Oyo state government has never contemplated, discussed or planned such an action.

“There has to be a credible motive for every government action and this, coming from the unofficial spokesman of our opponents, is better put in the refuse dump where it belongs.

“Desperate politics foists thoughtless propaganda and reduces democracy into a joke.”

Also, the media aide to Oba Ladoja, Chief Adeola Oloko, said the statement credited to Mr  Fayose was unfounded and baseless rumour.

Chief Oloko added that there is no rift between Governor Makinde and Kabiyesi to warrant such moves as alleged by Fayose.

“It will be most unfortunate, if it is not a rumour. I dont see cause of friction between Governor Makinde and Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he said.
