The All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate in Ogun state for the 2027 gubernatorial election, Senator Olamilekan Solomon Adeola, on Tuesday met with Senator Iyabo Obasanjo, a frontline aspirant in the guber race.

The meeting held at the Obasanjo hilltop residence in Abeokuta, was part of Senator Adeola’s continued consultation with party aspirants toward forging a united front towards the 2027 general elections.

Senator Adeola while addressing newsmen after a closed door meeting with the daughter of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, stated that his intention was to bring everyone on board for the overall development of the state.

“My visit and engagement is why I am here today, to speak with my sister and all her supporters, to seek for their support and their understanding. That come 2027, I want to see an Ogun State that everybody comes together, works together for the overall development of our dear state.

”So basically, I am here to seek for her support and her kind understanding for the forthcoming primaries and the general election come 2027, so that our party, the All Progressives Congress, can come out victorious by the grace of God.

“She is a well-known Nigerian who has served both at the state level and at the federal level. Having served as the Commissioner for Health of this great state, and also a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, so she is a force to be reckoned with.

“The references that I have got since she showed intention to run for the governor has been highly commendable from supporters, from people around the length and breadth of this state. What they said about her is highly commendable, and I am very happy because that shows that she will remain a force to be reckoned with not only in Ogun State, even beyond Ogun State.

”I commend her and I celebrate her for those good works she has done when opportunity beckons on her to serve in any capacity that has been given to her. So I commend her and I thank her, and I say that we look forward to working together into the future so that we can take Ogun State to the next level beyond what we are currently seeing”, Adeola said.
