Victor Osimhen is in line to make his comeback for Galatasaray in Wednesday’s Turkish Cup quarter-final against Gençlerbirliği at RAMS Park.

The striker has missed the club’s last four matches with an arm injury but returned to full training on Monday, boosting hopes of a long-awaited appearance.

He was included in the squad for last weekend’s league meeting with the same opponents but remained on the bench.

According to Turkish outlet Sabah, the 27-year-old could be handed limited minutes as he builds match sharpness.

Osimhen is expected to play around 15 to 20 minutes before Sunday’s Intercontinental Derby against fierce rivals Fenerbahçe.

Galatasaray enter the tie as reigning champions of the Turkish Cup and in strong form, unbeaten in their last 10 matches in the competition with 24 goals scored and eight conceded.

Victory would book a semi-final meeting with the winner of the clash between Samsunspor and Trabzonspor next month.

The return cannot come soon enough for manager Okan Buruk, who has been without his leading striker since the arm fracture suffered during the Champions League defeat to Liverpool in March.

Reports in Turkey also claim the Nigerian is eager to be involved as soon as possible, especially ahead of the derby showdown.

“No matter the condition of my arm, I will play against Fenerbahçe. I have to do this in front of our fans. This derby will be my match,” he said.

Galatasaray dropped five points during his absence and will hope his return provides a timely lift as the season enters its decisive stretch.
