
The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, has commended the renewed commitment of the administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, to ongoing reforms aimed at repositioning the initiative for greater impact.
Hon. Ugochinyere gave the commendation while receiving beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme from Imo State who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
He noted that the reform-driven approach being championed by Dr. Otuaro is already inspiring hope among beneficiaries and stakeholders in the Niger Delta region especially in the area of knowledge, Skill and Education empowerment.
The lawmaker stated that the Amnesty Programme remains a critical component in sustaining peace, stability, and development in the region, emphasizing that any effort geared towards transparency, accountability, and improved welfare of beneficiaries deserves support.
He further assured that the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) will continue to provide the necessary legislative backing to ensure the success of the reforms and the overall objectives of the programme.
Ugochinyere also urged beneficiaries to remain law-abiding and take full advantage of the opportunities provided under the programme to improve their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to national development.
He reiterated the commitment of the National Assembly to initiatives that promote peace, economic growth, and sustainable development across the country.
