Iran-US-Israel War Ceasefire Live News Updates: Donald Trump says a deal with Iran is possible as Pakistan mediates talks on a 14 point draft, while Israel strikes Beirut and Gaza despite ceasefire agreements.
Trump also warned that failure to reach an understanding could trigger further military action.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran is still reviewing a new proposal from Washington and will communicate its response to mediator Pakistan after “finalising its views”.
Pakistan has reportedly continued to play a central role in backchannel negotiations between the two sides.
Negotiators are discussing a 14-point draft memorandum aimed at ending the Gulf conflict and paving the way for wider talks on sanctions relief, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and limits on Iran’s nuclear activities.
However, unresolved issues include Iran’s missile programme and its stockpile of enriched uranium.
Meanwhile, regional tensions remain high. Israel carried out strikes in Beirut despite an April 17 ceasefire arrangement with Lebanon.
Hamas also condemned Israel’s continued attacks on Gaza, describing them as a “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement” and part of a “war of extermination” in the Palestinian territory.
