Students of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) were thrown into confusion late Monday night after suspected gunmen raided hostels within the university environment.
The attack reportedly forced many students to flee their rooms for safety, as fear spread across the campus.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti state command, Abutu Sunday, said Wednesday that one suspect had been arrested in connection with the raid. He said investigations were ongoing to track down other members of the gang.
However, the development has renewed concerns over the safety of students living in private hostels around the university community.
