The Police Service Commission has announced that the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) for candidates in the ongoing Nigeria Police Force recruitment exercise will hold from April 28 to April 30, 2026 across the country.

According to the Commission, the CBT will take place in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following the conclusion of the nationwide physical and credentials screening scheduled to end on April 18, 2026.

A statement issued by the Sokoto State Police Command and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Rufa’i, described the CBT as a key stage in the recruitment process, stressing that it is designed to ensure only qualified candidates are selected.

He explained that the duration of the test will vary across states depending on the number of applicants and the availability of functional CBT centres.

While some states may complete the exercise within a day, others may require the full three-day period.

“The scheduling is flexible to accommodate operational realities across states, but every eligible candidate will be given a fair opportunity to participate,” Rufa’i said.

He urged applicants to remain calm and await official communication on venue allocations and shortlisted candidates, adding that only verified platforms should be relied upon for updates.

The police also cautioned against misinformation, warning that all official information regarding the exercise would be released through approved channels.

The recruitment exercise, according to authorities, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen manpower and improve operational capacity within the Nigeria Police Force.
