The Member representing Apapa Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Adesola Samuel Adedayo, has distributed over 200 bags of rice to residents and stakeholders across the constituency as part of efforts to support them ahead of the Easter celebration.

The distribution, which took place on Thursday, 2 April, 2026, in Apapa, Lagos, was organised to cushion the economic burden on constituents while promoting inclusiveness and goodwill during the festive season.

The items were shared among a broad spectrum of beneficiaries, including artisans, ward-level constituents, leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the League of Imams, traditional rulers such as Baálè, market leaders including the Iyalode, as well as traders and community stakeholders.

Representing the lawmaker at the event, the Chief Whip of the Sixth Legislative Arm of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA and Councillor for Ward A, Hon. Rasak Toibu Adisa, delivered Adedayo’s Easter goodwill message, emphasising the lawmaker’s commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

Speaking with journalists, Adisa commended Adedayo’s consistent outreach, describing him as a responsive and people-oriented representative.

“Hon. Dr. Adesola Adedayo has been doing this non-stop gesture since he assumed office in 2023,” he said. “This shows that our father, leader and MHR is a man of the masses, and we are very lucky to have him representing Apapa Federal Constituency.”

Furthermore, he noted that the initiative reflects the lawmaker’s dedication to fostering peaceful coexistence and giving back to the people, particularly during significant religious celebrations.

The event attracted several notable dignitaries, including: the Vice Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Chief Mrs. Fadeke Otitonaiye (JP); the APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Olabanji Fabiyi; former APC LGA Chairman, Hon. Toyin Aweda (JP); Councillor Ward E, Hon. Shola Aweda; all seven APC Ward Chairmen; Hon. Bunmi Adebara; and Hon. Olubunmi Oladeji.

Also in attendance were representatives of CAN, the League of Imams, artisans, traditional leaders, and market stakeholders, who witnessed the distribution exercise.

Beneficiaries of the programme expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that the support would go a long way in easing preparations for the Easter celebration.
