Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh has spotlighted Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams as the Super Eagles’ standout performers in Europe this season.
Speaking on his show, Global Football Insights With Oliseh, the ex-Nigeria captain praised the trio for their goal-scoring exploits, saying, “Let’s look at the facts. We have world-class dominance right now from Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams and Ademola Lookman.
“It’s joy to watch these guys perform. These guys are dismantling European defences. They are our fuel at the moment, but even the best fuel is useless if the engine is broken.”
Osimhen has netted 19 goals for Galatasaray across all competitions, Adams has scored 7 for Sevilla, while Lookman has struck 6 times for Atletico Madrid. Collectively, the three have contributed 51 goals this season for their clubs and country, highlighting Nigeria’s attacking potential despite the national team missing out on the 2026 World Cup.
Oliseh acknowledged the Super Eagles’ decent showing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished third, but warned that challenges remain ahead.
He stressed the importance of long-term planning, noting that some current squad members might not feature in the 2030 World Cup cycle.
“Nigeria has world-class forwards, but the team must strengthen across all areas. The NFF needs to start preparing for the future,” Oliseh added.
