President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
The endorsement follows the decision of the Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC), which selected Hamzat as the party’s preferred candidate to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
This development strengthens Hamzat’s position as the leading contender, backed by key party stakeholders and the President’s influence in Lagos politics.
