A member of the Police Service Commission (PSC), retired Deputy Inspector General of (DIG), Taiwo Lakanu, Wednesday lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing reforms in the police force.

He noted that such remarkable reforms are making police more attractive, adding that there is no better time to join the force than now.

Lakanu stated this during an assessment tour of the state Police command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun state, as part of the ongoing nationwide police recruitment exercise.

He said the recruitment drive follows a directive by the federal government to increase the strength of the Nigeria Police Force by 50,000 personnel.

“There are a lot of reforms going on in the force. This is the best time to be in the police. Those who are qualified will be given the opportunity,” he said.

Lakanu encouraged young Nigerians to consider policing as a viable and rewarding career, citing improved welfare, better salary structures and opportunities for professional development.
