Nnewi stakeholders have vowed to get justice for the Nnewichi community, whose turn it is to produce the next Council Chairman come Saturday, 29 August, 2026 based on the established zoning and rotational arrangement that has kept Nnewi in perfect equilibrium.
The Convener of the meeting, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma noted that the group was passionately committed to upturn the imposition of Hon Echezona Anazodo from Umudim-Nnewi on the town by a handful of Cabals.
He pointed out that the movement is not out to create enemity with anyone but rather set out to correct the anomaly of destroying a rotational arrangement that has ensure peaceful cohabitation of the people for so many years.
Chief Chukwuma insisted that the group would ensure that the position of HRH, Igwe Dr KON Orizu positively changed on the turn of Nnewichi-Nnewi community to produce the next Chairman.
He revealed that Gov Charles Soludo was hoodwinked into supporting Hon Anazodo who is from Umudim-Nnewi by the few cabals who lied to the Anambra State number one man about situation of things in Nnewi, adding that the charade would be corrected soon.
Chief Chukwuma also expressed concern over the recent reported discrimination against non indigenes who are plying their trades in Nnewi markets, insisting that the stakeholders will put machinery in motion to put paid to such unhealthy development.
Others who spoke condemned the alleged reckless unofficial meeting of the Nnewi Town Union popularly called Nsuko-Ora Nnewi into the Council administration.
They pointed out that the Nsuko-Ora Nnewi has always been independent of Nnewi North Council activities until the cabals introduced a fusion of the two independent establishments.
Member representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Augustine Ikedoji; former state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Chief Emma Nsoedo; Prof Obi Nwosu, Hon Sir Nnamdi Udeaja, Hon Nonso Obi, and others spoke passionately of their preparedness to make the industrial town of Nnewi work again.
