The member representing Bade/Jakusko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Hassan Kaikaku Jakduwa, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

NOP NIGERIA reports that Jakduwa announced his defection on Sunday through a post on his official Facebook page, stating that the decision followed careful reflection and extensive consultations.

The lawmaker said his move was motivated by a desire to better serve his constituents and attract more development opportunities to the area.

“My choice is driven by the desire to align with a platform that will further enhance my capacity to serve effectively and attract more opportunities and development to our constituency,” he wrote.

“I am confident that this step will strengthen our collective efforts toward improving the lives of our people.”

Jakduwa expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as a warm reception and support following his defection.

He also thanked his supporters and well-wishers for their understanding, encouragement and continued trust.

Reaffirming his commitment to public service, the lawmaker assured constituents that his dedication remained unwavering despite the change in political affiliation.

“I assure you all that my dedication to service remains firm and unwavering. Together, we will continue to work for peace, progress and prosperity in our constituency, Yobe State and Nigeria at large,” he added.
