Oke made the statement on Wednesday during the inauguration of the party’s campaign committees held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital. The event brought together party leaders, supporters, campaign officials, and members of various committees who are expected to coordinate activities ahead of the election........…
During his address, Oke expressed confidence in the chances of .... the APC and its governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, insisting that the ruling administration in the state would be defeated before the end of the election day.
Oke stated that the APC campaign structure was fully prepared .... to challenge the current administration and convince voters that the party offers a better alternative for governance in Osun State.
He explained that members of the campaign council had a major responsibility to ensure that the party reaches communities across the state and presents its plans clearly to the people.
According to him, the party intends to focus on areas where it believes the present administration has not performed effectively.
He said the APC would take advantage of what he described as weaknesses in the management of state resources under the current government.
He added that the party’s campaign strategy would involve direct engagement with residents, party mobilisation, and stronger grassroots activities aimed at gaining widespread support for Oyebamiji ahead of the election.
Speaking further during the inauguration ceremony, Oke criticised the performance of the current administration, especially regarding governance and public service delivery.
He argued that payment of workers’ salaries should not be presented as a major achievement because it is a basic responsibility of any government.
According to him, workers who are employed by the state deserve to receive their wages regularly, and fulfilling that obligation should be regarded as a normal duty rather than a special accomplishment.
He maintained that governance involves broader responsibilities such as infrastructure development, effective management of public funds, and implementation of policies that improve the lives of citizens.
Oke stressed that the APC intends to campaign on issues that directly affect residents and will continue to question the priorities and spending pattern of the current administration.
The inauguration of the campaign committees marked an important stage in the APC’s preparations for the governorship election.
Party leaders at the event encouraged members to remain united and committed as the election approaches.
The committees are expected to coordinate various aspects of the campaign, including mobilisation, media engagement, logistics, voter outreach, and strategic planning across different local government areas in the state.
Oke charged committee members to carry out their assignments diligently and work towards ensuring victory for the party.
He told supporters that every level of the campaign structure must remain active and focused in order to achieve the party’s objective during the election.
Party members present at the gathering also expressed optimism about the chances of the APC in the poll and pledged to intensify campaign efforts in their respective areas.
The Osun governorship election is expected to attract significant political attention as parties continue preparations for the contest.
Political activities have already increased across the state, with parties strengthening their structures and mobilising supporters ahead of the vote.
