Former Zamfara Central senator, Kabir Marafa, has again switched political parties, leaving the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) just three weeks after joining the ADC.
Marafa, who represented Zamfara Central from 2011 to 2019, was formally received into the NDC in Abuja by party leaders, including former Bayelsa governor Seriake Dickson.
His latest move comes barely weeks after he joined the ADC on April 8, 2026, following his exit from the All Progressives Congress in 2025.
Explaining his decision, Marafa said internal legal disputes within the ADC and uncertainty over court cases made it difficult for him and his supporters to remain in the party ahead of upcoming electoral deadlines.
He argued that joining a “stable and viable platform” was necessary to ensure participation in future elections, warning that delays in court rulings could affect political planning.
Welcoming him, NDC leaders described Marafa as a strong political asset who would help strengthen the party’s presence, especially in the North-West.
