Speaking during an interview on SYMFONI TV on Thursday, May 21, 2026 Ogene said Obi “won in the hearts of Nigerians” during the 2023 presidential election. He noted that Obi’s political influence has continued to grow since the election, attracting support from serving senators, members of the House of Representatives, and state lawmakers.
According to Ogene, Obi’s political appeal now extends beyond the South-East region, citing his increasing engagement with prominent political figures, including Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
He said,
“If Obi won 2023 elections at that time in the hearts of Nigerians, how much so, now that he has sitting senators, House of Representatives members, and state assembly members. He has also extended the handshake farther into the North-West by picking a pro-people proponent like Senator Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso.”
