2027: In Nigeria, Anyone Can Come Back As President, So I Have Nothing Against GEJ — Momodu Reveals

During the interview, Momodu stated, “In Nigeria, anyone can come back as president, so I have nothing against Goodluck Jonathan.” He made the remark while responding to discussions surrounding speculations that former President Goodluck Jonathan could return to active presidential politics.…....

Momodu explained that Nigeria’s political environment has shown over the years that former leaders and experienced politicians can remain influential long after leaving office. According to him, the country’s democratic system allows any eligible political figure to seek office again if they still enjoy support from voters and political stakeholders.

He further stated that while Jonathan remains widely respected in some quarters, Nigerians would still evaluate his previous administration, including issues surrounding insecurity and governance challenges during his tenure. He noted that every politician seeking a return to power would eventually face scrutiny from the electorate over past records and performance.

The ADC chieftain also argued that the 2027 elections are already generating intense political calculations among opposition figures and ruling party members, with many possible alliances and candidacies still being discussed behind the scenes. He stressed that political survival in Nigeria often depends on strategy, timing, and coalition-building.

Momodu concluded by emphasizing that democracy gives citizens the power to decide who leads them, adding that no politician should be completely ruled out of contention as long as the constitution permits participation and the electorate remains willing to listen.
