An event centre, De Rainbow Event Marquee, has dismissed media reports alleging that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, threatened to revoke the facility’s operating licence over the hosting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Convention held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

The management described the reports as false and misleading, insisting that it never received any communication or threat of licence revocation from the Minister or any government institution regarding the event or its operations.

Director of the facility, Martina K. Yusuf speaking at a press briefing in Abuja said the publications circulating in the media were not authorised and appeared to have been disseminated without proper verification.

“We wish to categorically state that De Rainbow Event Marquee did not receive any threat of licence revocation from the Honourable Minister of the FCT or from any other person or government institution,” the statement read.

The management said the clarification became necessary following enquiries from clients with existing bookings who expressed concern over the status of their scheduled events in the wake of the reports.

It urged the public and media organisations to disregard the allegation and rely strictly on verified information.

De Rainbow Event Marquee reaffirmed that it remained fully operational, stressing that all confirmed bookings remain valid and will be honoured.
