AFCON 2027 qualifiers: Super Eagles drawn against Tanzania, Madagascar

The Super Eagles will play Madagascar, Tanzania, and Guinea-Bissau in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.

This follows the conclusion of the draw in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday.

Nigeria is among the seeded teams in the draw, alongside some of Africa’s top football nations.

Eric Chelle’s men are widely expected to top the group, with the top two teams securing qualification for the 2027 AFCON finals.

The qualifying series will be played across three FIFA international windows between September 2026 and March 2027.

Matchdays one and two are scheduled to take place from September 21 to October 6, 2026, while matchdays three and four will be played between November 9 and 17, 2026.

The final round of qualification matches is slated for March 22 to 30, 2027.

The competition will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027.
