A disgruntled APC aspirant, Ambassador Fubara Dagogo, has taken the ruling party to court after allegedly being shut out of the race for the position of National Vice Chairman representing the South-South zone despite claiming to have spent over N100 million pursuing that ambition.
Dagogo filed his suit before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik at a Federal High Court in Abuja, naming the APC, its National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, incumbent South-South Vice Chairman Victor Giadom, and National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu as defendants.
According to court documents, Dagogo maintains that he paid for the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms but was denied access to them even though he had fulfilled all the necessary requirements.
He alleged that after making payment on March 13, 2026, he visited the APC national secretariat to collect the forms, only to be told they were no longer available.
He further claimed that certain party officials deliberately stood in his way out of fear that he posed a serious threat to the incumbent in the contest.
Through the suit, Dagogo is requesting that any outcome of the South-South zonal congress conducted without his involvement be declared null and void.
He is also seeking N100 million in damages for the embarrassment, emotional distress, and mental anguish he says the party’s actions caused him.
The APC, however, has pushed back through its legal team, urging the court to dismiss the case on the grounds that it touches on the party’s internal affairs and is therefore not a matter the courts should entertain.
