Coalition support groups within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State on Friday staged a solidarity parade in Ayetoro, mobilising grassroots backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid and the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The coalition, which included the City Boy Movement, Caucus 7202, and the Ogun West Assembly, marched through major streets of Ayetoro, the local government headquarters, in a colourful procession that drew party faithful, supporters, and community stakeholders.

The groups later converged at the Palace Square of the Alaye of Ayetoro, where leaders declared a united front to strengthen the APC’s electoral fortunes in the area and across Ogun State.

Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, who convened the parade, said the mobilisation was aimed at consolidating grassroots structures in support of President Tinubu’s re-election and Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration.

According to him, the convergence of support groups signalled renewed political coordination within the party ahead of the 2027 polls.

“This gathering is to demonstrate our readiness in Yewa North to mobilise overwhelming grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the electoral victory of Senator Adeola in 2027,” Salako said.

He further described Adeola’s emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the APC in Ogun State as a landmark political development for Ogun West, noting that it reflected growing inclusion within the party’s leadership structure.

“We are here to celebrate the choice of Senator Adeola as the consensus governorship candidate of the APC in Ogun State. This is the first time someone from Ogun West is being unanimously endorsed in that capacity,” he added.

Also speaking, the Director-General of Caucus 7202, Seni Koiki, said the solidarity parade was organised to harmonise support structures and strengthen mobilisation efforts for APC candidates at all levels in Yewa North.

Koiki said the coalition was committed to delivering electoral success for President Tinubu and Senator Adeola, stressing that unity among party blocs remained critical to the APC’s strategy going into 2027.

The event ended with renewed pledges of loyalty to the party and commitments by the coalition groups to intensify grassroots engagement across communities in Yewa North and beyond.
