The All Progressives Congress has clarified that party members participating in its ongoing primary elections are not required to present proof of payment of membership dues in order to vote.
This was detailed in a press statement issued in Abuja on May 16, 2026, issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
It was titled, “No requirement to show proof of APC membership dues payment to vote in ongoing primary elections.”
Morka stressed that all duly registered members remain eligible to take part in the exercise.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to clarify that there is no requirement for Party members to show proof of payment of APC membership dues in order to vote in the ongoing Primary Elections.
“All duly registered members of the Party are entitled to participate in the exercise,” he said.
The party further explained that any requirement related to membership dues applied only to aspirants and their nominators during earlier stages of the electoral process.
He further stated in the release, “For the avoidance of doubt, the requirement to show proof of payment of APC membership dues was applicable only to aspirants and their nominators during the submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms as well as during the screening exercise.”
The statement urged members and stakeholders to disregard conflicting reports and ensure smooth participation in the primaries.
“The Party urges members and stakeholders to disregard any contrary information, and enable all duly registered party members to participate peacefully in the ongoing primary elections without hindrance,” he concluded.
