The Chairman of the APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee for Lagos State, Saleh Yipmong, has called on party officials and electoral agents to uphold transparency and fairness as the party conducts its primaries, reaffirming the committee’s commitment to a credible internal election process.

Yipmong made the call on Saturday, 16 May, 2026, at the party’s state secretariat in ACME, during the primary election exercise, where he spoke alongside members of the committee from Plateau State, outlining the framework guiding the conduct of the polls.

Addressing stakeholders, the committee chairman stressed the importance of integrity throughout the process, noting that the credibility of the exercise depends largely on the conduct of party officials and agents.

He further assured that the committee remains dedicated not only to supervising the elections but also to ensuring that any disputes arising from the process are handled through a transparent appeals procedure.

He reminded party members that the primaries are strictly internal affairs, urging aspirants and their supporters to maintain peace and unity.

“All contestants are members of the same political family,” Yipmong said, appealing for restraint and sportsmanship before, during and after the exercise.

Explaining the voting process, Yipmong stated that balloting would be conducted at the ward level, where registered party members are expected to participate in accordance with established party guidelines.

He added that results from the various wards would be collated and subsequently transmitted to the state collation centre for final announcement.

The exercise is being carried out across 24 Federal Constituencies in Lagos State, with party officials and key stakeholders deployed to different Local Government Areas to oversee the process and ensure compliance with the outlined procedures.
