The All Progressives Congress (APC) has concluded its senatorial primaries in Ekiti State, with Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, Cyril Fasuyi, and Yemi Adaramodu emerging as the party’s candidates for Ekiti Central, Ekiti North, and Ekiti South Senatorial Districts respectively.
The Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee and Chief Returning Officer, Wasiu Adedoyin, announced the results on Monday night in Ado Ekiti.
According to Adedoyin, Bamidele emerged unopposed in the Ekiti Central Senatorial District primary after securing 29,586 votes.
In the Ekiti North contest, incumbent senator Fasuyi defeated former senator Ayo Arise and Engr. Bamisaye Oladipupo. Fasuyi polled 14,179 votes, while Arise received 4,868 votes and Oladipupo scored 3,694 votes.
For Ekiti South Senatorial District, Adaramodu secured victory with 12,200 votes. He defeated former senator Biodun Olujimi, who polled 7,420 votes, and Hon. Bamidele Faparusi, who garnered 5,502 votes.
Adedoyin praised party members for the peaceful conduct of the primaries across the three senatorial districts, noting that the exercise was transparent and conducted in line with APC guidelines.
