APC Primaries: Gagdi loses Reps third term bid

The member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, has lost his bid for a third term following the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.

Results announced by the returning officer, Daspan Ishaya, showed that Dr. John Tongshinen recorded a total of 29,968 votes in the exercise.

Hon. Gagdi polled 5,849 votes, while another aspirant, John Pia, scored 51 votes.

A breakdown of the results indicated that in Pankshin Local Government Area, Tongshinen secured 13,155 votes, while Gagdi recorded 1,072 votes.

In Kanke Local Government Area, Tongshinen polled 6,438 votes, with Gagdi scoring 126 votes.

In Kanam Local Government Area, Tongshinen recorded 10,375 votes, while Gagdi secured 4,651 votes.

Announcing the results, Ishaya stated that the figures were collated from across the wards and local government areas, noting that his duty was limited to presenting the outcome of the exercise.

Efforts to get reaction from Hon. Gagdi were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
