Barcelona have reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford as the Spanish champions continue efforts to keep the England international at the club.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has personally pushed for the move, identifying Rashford as an important part of his attacking plans for next season.
The Catalan club had initially viewed a permanent deal as difficult due to financial restrictions, but Flick’s preference for Rashford over younger attacking alternatives reportedly shifted the club’s focus.
Rashford is also said to have eased negotiations by accepting salary adjustments and a longer contract structure designed to fit within Barcelona’s financial limits.
Despite the progress, Manchester United are reportedly refusing to lower their €30m valuation of the forward.
The Premier League club are also understood to be against extending the current loan arrangement and instead want a permanent transfer.
Barcelona, however, are believed to be relying on Rashford’s desire to remain at Camp Nou to help force a compromise in negotiations.
The England forward reportedly has no interest in returning to Old Trafford and is not considering offers from other clubs.
His position has complicated matters for United despite the club retaining his registration rights.
Reports claimed Barcelona are now exploring alternative structures for the transfer, including a fresh loan deal with an obligation to buy in 2027.
Such an arrangement could potentially reduce the eventual transfer fee once Rashford enters the final year of his Manchester United contract.
The structure would also allow Barcelona to delay major payments while remaining within La Liga financial regulations.
Flick is said to remain determined to keep Rashford as Barcelona continue preparations for the new season following their La Liga title success.
