BREAKING: Peter Obi Went To Bauchi To Meet With Bala To Join ADC When He Knew He Is On His Way Out-Ojo

As opposition parties continue consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections, public affairs analyst Jide Ojo allegedly claimed in an interview that former Anambra State governor Peter Obi tried to convince Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed to join the African Democratic Congress. The interview aired on Trust TV.…....

Ojo made the assertion while talking about how the opposition is becoming more divided and how political players are still trying to figure out how to work together to establish a coalition that can challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress in the upcoming presidential election.

Analyst claims that political conversations heated up soon after multiple opposition members met in Ibadan to discuss potential 2027 presidential candidate consensus. The talks, he said, were part of a larger coalition attempt to forge closer ties amongst the opposition parties in the run-up to the elections.

The interviewee, Ojo, made the accusation that Peter Obi went on to visit Bauchi and meet with Governor Bala Mohammed, trying to pitch him on joining the ADC. Despite internal difficulties within the opposition alliance, he asserted that Obi allegedly made repeated efforts to convince the governor to join the party.

“Peter Obi travelled to Bauchi to meet with Bala Mohammed and tried to convince Bala Mohammed to join ADC after they returned from Ibadan. “Peter Obi went to see Bala Mohammed twice, trying to convince him to join ADC even though he knew he was leaving. Bala Mohammed was astute enough to turn down Peter Obi’s advances and instead set up camp with APM,” Ojo explained.

These remarks are made at a time when political factions are shifting and leaders of the opposition are negotiating to form stronger alliances in preparation for the 2027 elections. Parties are trying to consolidate support across different parts of the country, and analysts believe coalition discussions could be a big factor in how the opposition is structured in the next years.

Further speculation on the trajectory of the opposition party and the potential formation of new coalitions in the run-up to the next general election has been stoked by Ojo’s accusations.
