During an exclusive interview with on Channel TV, Dahiru also criticised the non-kinetic approach proposed by Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi in addressing banditry, arguing that terrorist groups should be confronted decisively rather than engaged in negotiation. He maintained that such criminal groups pose a serious threat that requires elimination instead of dialogue.
He further alleged that Gumi shows sympathy toward bandits and terrorists, insisting that the cleric cannot deny such an accusation regardless of ethnic or religious considerations. “Gumi cannot deny the fact that he is a sympathizer of bandits and terrorists on the basis of ethnicity and religion, he cannot deny it,” he said.
