Yusuf Buhari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

Yusuf emerged unopposed after party stakeholders in Katsina State adopted him as the consensus candidate during a meeting held on April 28.

The decision was announced by Ahmed Dangiwa, chairman of the consensus committee for Daura Zone and a former Minister of Housing and Urban Development.

Reacting to the development, Mai’adua Local Government APC Chairman, Mannir Musa, called on party members to accept the outcome in good faith and work together for party unity and progress.

He also urged Governor Dikko Radda to support aspirants who did not secure tickets.

Other candidates adopted through the consensus arrangement include Nasir Yahaya for the Daura senatorial seat and Mustapha Musa for the Mai’adua constituency seat in the Katsina State House of Assembly.

In his remarks, Yusuf Buhari thanked party members for their confidence and promised to deliver effective representation if elected.
