- Barrister Marshall says internal disagreements within Justice Crack’s legal team forced him to withdraw from the case despite his willingness to continue.
- The courtroom drama has since sparked heated reactions online after the bail application became invalid following his exit.
Barrister Marshall has finally addressed the dramatic courtroom incident that led to his withdrawal from the legal team representing Justice Crack, insisting that despite the disagreement, his desire for justice in the case remains unchanged.
Speaking after the court session, the lawyer explained that he initially intended to continue handling the matter despite internal conflict within the defence team. According to him, the situation escalated after some members allegedly pushed for another lawyer to take over the proceedings, forcing him to voluntarily withdraw his appearance so a new bail application could be filed.
“I was willing to continue with the matter despite the conflict of interest but after the decision by some of our comrades to ensure that another lawyer comes in and takes over the proceedings, forced me to willfully withdrew my appearance so that another bail application can be filed and the case can proceed on Monday. I still want Justice for Just Crack.”
Following his withdrawal, the court reportedly held that the existing bail application could no longer stand, leading to an adjournment till Monday.
The development has since triggered mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether the disagreement among the lawyers was necessary at such a critical stage of the case.
