Court Hands CBN Full Ownership of eNaira, Stops Company From Using Name

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled in favour of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the legal battle over ownership of the “eNaira” name and digital currency platform.

In a judgment delivered on Friday, Justice James Omotosho granted the apex bank exclusive rights over the eNaira trademark and restrained a private company, eNaira Payment Solutions Limited, from further presenting itself as the owner of the name.
