The matatu was seen reversing on the busy highway before hitting a Super Metro bus first.

Did matatu crash on Thika Road?

It then crashed into a boda boda rider, smashing the bike as the rider narrowly escaped with his life. The next rider quickly jumped off to save himself, leaving the goods he was carrying behind as he faced the terrifying ordeal.

Another boda boda rider, carrying a small load, also abandoned his motorcycle in a desperate attempt to save his life.

The matatu hit everything in its path as onlookers watched in shock and terror.

Motorists and bystanders stood by the roadside, stunned, as they watched the incident unfold and wondered what had caused it.

It was not yet clear how many people were injured in the incident or how many vehicles and motorcycles were damaged.

Authorities have also not yet determined what caused the vehicle to lose control on the busy highway.
