Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has charged residents of Kogi State to participate in INEC’s ongoing Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) registration exercise before it closes on July 10, 2026.
The charge was made in a statement she made public on Friday.
The Kogi Central lawmaker urged eligible voters, especially youths and first-time registrants, to obtain their PVCs, describing it as the most powerful tool for shaping the future of communities and the nation.
“Your vote remains your voice, and your voice matters in shaping the future of our communities, our state, and our nation,” she said.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stressed that no eligible citizen should be excluded, urging those whose voter details need correction to update their records before the deadline.
She also called on community leaders, youth groups and civil society organisations to intensify grassroots sensitisation to boost registration across the state.
“Democracy thrives when citizens participate actively. A PVC is not just a card; it is a symbol of your right to determine the future you desire,” the senator added.
INEC is currently conducting nationwide PVC registration and voter information updates ahead of the July 10, 2026 deadline.
