Nollywood actress Regina Chukwu has responded after being dragged online over a post she shared amid reports surrounding the alleged death of actor Alex Ekubo.
The actress came under criticism after a post she made surfaced at the same time social media users were reacting to news of the actor’s reported passing.
Addressing the situation, Regina Chukwu explained that the post was a scheduled upload that went live automatically before she could reschedule or delete it.
She noted that she was met with insults before she even became aware of the timing issue.
According to her:
“A scheduled post popped up at the time it was supposed to, and before I could get there, I have started seeing so many insults on the post.”
She further defended herself, saying she does not owe anyone an explanation and that people often try to police how others express themselves online.
“Not like I owe anyone any explanation o but you see y’all with fake love that always want to tell others how to live their life… This is my space, and you won’t tell me how to act here.”
The actress stressed that Instagram is her personal space and insisted that users should not dictate her behavior or emotional expression online.
