Jessica Nwosu, the former wife of Ugo Ogbonna, the UK-based Nigerian influencer, has denied accusations of cheating he made against her.
The issue started after Ugo shared a now-deleted post on X where he accused Jessica of being unfaithful during their marriage.
The influencer also announced that their divorce had been completed.
“It’s crazy you’re in my house, sleeping with another man but I’m in London working my ass out to pay your fucking school fees in GBP? No, send your tuition to that man, he is man enough to sleep with another man’s wife. He should match it with his funds. Divorce finalised, gtf,” he wrote
He further alleged that she had been deported from the United Kingdom.
The claims quickly attracted attention online, with social media users reacting differently to the situation.
While some people supported Ugo, others said they preferred to wait for Jessica’s response before taking sides.
Responding through a statement shared on X, Jessica said she had experienced months of emotional stress and pressure since the marriage ended.
She accused her ex-husband of trying to force a reconciliation after the separation and claimed the online allegations began after she refused to return to the relationship.
Jessica denied cheating during the marriage, insisting the accusations against her were false and damaging.
“For the past several months, I have quietly carried the weight of intense emotional distress and private pressure that no one should ever have to endure. Since the end of my marriage, I have tried to move forward in peace,” she wrote.
“But I have been met with persistent attempts to force me back into a relationship I had clearly walked away from, under the claim that we remained ‘culturally married’. Because I chose to stand my ground and reclaim my life, I have become the target of a malicious campaign.
“False, deeply hurtful allegations about my character and my fidelity have been weaponised against me online to punish me for leaving. I want to be absolutely clear: I never cheated on my former spouse-Ugo (Parklins Ifeanyichukwu) at any time during our marriage.”
She also demanded N500 million in damages over what she described as defamation and character attacks.
According to her, private photos and videos of her were circulated online alongside insulting comments, which she described as painful and traumatic.
Jessica said the experience had deeply affected her emotionally, especially as a mother, and added that her legal team would begin court action if her demands were not met within 48 hours.
“These claims are entirely fabricated. Watching my private photographs and videos being dragged across blogs and social media accompanied by cruel insults, harassment, and character assassination has been heartbreaking and terrifying,” she added.
“This has been a deeply traumatic experience, not just for me as a woman, but as a mother. To protect my name, my dignity, and my well-being, my solicitors will commence immediate legal action
“I believe that those responsible for these defamatory publications should be held accountable. Now, I intend to let the lawful process and my legal representatives handle the situation. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has shown restraint, kindness, and support during this painful period.”
Reacting to Jessica’s statement, Ugo said he had been advised by his legal team not to speak further on the matter and asked that all future communication be directed to his lawyers.
He wrote, “Defense has advised silence on this matter. No further comments from me. All legal queries be forwarded to my firm. Let me focus on my work, biko”.
