Falz Blasts Rising Kidnappings in Oyo, Says Nigerians Are “In a Battle for Our Lives”

Nigerian entertainer Falz The Bahd Guy has taken to social media to express deep frustration over the ongoing abduction crisis in Oyo State, describing May 27 — Children’s Day in Nigeria — as “miserable” amid continued insecurity.

In his post, Falz noted that over 40 persons remain missing in connection with the recent spate of kidnappings, and criticised government responses that he says effectively reward criminals with ransom payments while ordinary citizens continue to live in fear.

“Kidnappers are getting richer by the day because our government allow children to be tortured and then reward the criminals with handsome ransom payments,” the post reads.

He added that many Nigerians continue to “carry on like we are not already in a battle for our lives,” highlighting growing public anger over what some see as inadequate protection of citizens by security agencies.

The remarks come as security forces, including surveillance aircraft and special forces, have been deployed to parts of Oyo State to rescue abducted victims and restore order after weeks of attacks on highways and rural communities.
